Team Grey Group - Internship 1
This internship has really helped me to grow my networking in the event industry. Personally, I felt that networking is still king in the job search, and internships give me exposure to professionals who can speak to my skills and I can add to my growing network. For this internship in Team Grey Group I got a lot of opportunities to attend many types of events and I met many professionals in this event industry also suppliers as well as part-time crew from different country like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc.
Next, this internship has also built my resume experience and the interview talking points. In today’s job market, entry-level no longer means you don’t need to have experience. In fact, if we want a chance at standing out from the crowd, we absolutely need to have an internship or two under your belt. Having internships experience on our resume will help better qualify us for a position, catch a hiring manager’s eye and give us substantial things to talk about during our interview.
I think that “practice makes progress”. Internships provided me with experience not just in events industry but also in other departments within the company that work closely with events operation team such as graphic design, production team etc. I got to know and experience how those technical things (Audio & Visual) works in an event and it provided me with a broader vision that I can’t get at school sitting in the classroom.
