Pangkor Island & Teluk Intan
"Summer Vacation!" is a 3 Days 1 Night domestic trip to Pangkor Island. As part of the assignment of the module "Tour & Operation 2" in my Degree semester 2, we are required to plan a domestic tour package and sell to potential buyers. From itinerary planning, contact supplier, marketing promotional activities, and more. Besides that, we are required to deliver guide speeches during the trip as well. We managed to sell and filled up 2 (TWO) 44 seater bus, and received good feedback from the attendees and lecturer. This project allows us to have a better understanding of creating a tour package, and we are also able to apply practical skills that we learned during the class.
Overall from this TOU60403 TOUR & TRAVEL OPERATION 2 module, we not only get and learned knowledge from the lecture in class or even in the book but also much practical skill from outside the class for example our Domestic Group Tour to Pangkor Island in Malaysia definitely developed me a lot in my personality development.
Tour Guide Speech is one of the individual tests that we required to do in the class as the mark was count in. So, the positive impact of the module on me is when I went through this interesting activity in the class and the practical tour to Pangkor island. I learned to be more confident when talking to other people especially learned how to provide some information and have better communication with the stranger one. For this module, Mr. Nantha very often will give us some tasks about the costing of the tour package calculating and also come out with an itinerary. For me, I tried to finish it every time as well. This is because I think that only practice can make perfect, the more practice that we did the more we know and understand about the module.
In my opinion, this group project actually is not a very big challenge for me. This is because I felt glad that some of our group members gave Highly cooperation when preparing for this group project. Some of the group members were full of responsibility and initiatively to find out the information that we needed for the group project. Group members were also satisfied with their Distribution of workload since no one is complaining about it.
For my group assignment is required to make a domestic tour to Pangkor island with a group of committees all from our class. The part of this group assignment that I think I did well is the itinerary of the trip planning also the activities for the tour. This is because used to take a gap year to travel around Malaysia and visit every destination in Malaysia with a bunch of my friends before I start my university life. So that, I am familiar with most of the attraction places in Malaysia so the trip itinerary planning or even the traveling cost of the trip I could plan it well to fulfill most of the guests’ demand. Therefore, this assignment has helped me to appreciate building teamwork and communication skills which will be very advantageous to me in the future.
